Making a Difference

At Nichols Law Offices, PLLC, our professional team believes strongly in representing our clients with equal effort and robust representation every single day. We thrive on it. And we are proud of it. But we know that’s not enough.

We have come to the conclusion that we should all give back to our community and our world on a regular basis to leave this world a better place than when we came into it.

We think this is an obligation we all share.

With that in mind, we have determined to give back 5% of our time every year to make our world a little better place for everyone. Every month, everyone in the firm donates a full day of their time to a charitable organization determined by a different employee for that month and contributes their time as a team to that organization in our community. In this way, we feel that we are giving back some of the good fortune that we and our clients have shared as we work together to help our clients achieve their goals.

June 13, 2019 – Ed Smith School

The firm enjoyed an ice cream social with Ms. Parks and her students as an end-of-the-year treat. Our office received a very special plaque from the children thanking us for all we do in supporting this classroom and the student body. Again, a big thank-you to Ms. Parks and the wonderful students at Ed Smith for having us!

June 13, 2019 – McMahon Ryan Child Advocacy Center in Syracuse, New York

We recently volunteered at the McMahon Ryan Child Advocacy Center in Syracuse, NY. The office assembled informative packets for schoolchildren that the Center uses periodically throughout the year for their visits. Thank you for the opportunity to give back!

May 10, 2019 – Chittenango Landing Canal Boat Museum in Chittenango, New York

Volunteer day at the museum’s office!

There are numerous exciting events approaching, and we were thrilled to help Joe and the other staff members complete their tasks to tackle some of the work for these ventures.

Thank you for having us!

“Chittenango Landing Canal Boat Museum interprets the broad and deep history of Chittenango Landing: the land, air, water, and people by engaging the public through educational and recreational programming. While preserving and interpreting the recreated 19th-century dry dock complex, the museum fosters connections between the past and present in the Old Erie Canal State Historic Park.”

April 26, 2019 – The Samaritan Center in Syracuse, New York

The firm enjoyed volunteering at The Samaritan Center by assisting with daily meal prep and helping in the kitchen.

“The Samaritan Center is a 501c3, interfaith effort of community members committed to serving the hungry and those in need in order to promote their welfare dignity, and self-sufficiency. It is rooted in the belief that sound nutrition is the first step in enabling people to cope and become productive, self-sufficient members of society. Since 1981 Samaritan Center has worked to fight hunger in the greater Syracuse community by providing nutritious hot meals to anyone in need 7 days a week – no questions asked.”

April 12, 2019 – Volunteer activities at PEACE, Inc., Sumner School in Syracuse, New York

We enjoyed painting, staining, raking, and beautifying the proposed new garden and play area for the school children!

“Incorporated in 1968, PEACE, Inc. is a non-profit community-based organization with the mission of helping people in the community realize their potential for becoming self-sufficient. PEACE, Inc. believes in the strength of the human spirit and is dedicated to changing lives by teaching people how to help themselves and support those around them. McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Center Thank You Letter

July 2018 – Our firm took some VA veterans to the Rosamond Gifford Zoo! It was a great way to spend the day and to give back to our veterans.

June 8, 2018 – Volunteer activities at the McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Center.

Our staff graciously assembled school packets for this organization’s Outreach Department.

The McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Center is a non-profit organization that provides a safe, child and family-friendly environment for victims of child abuse and their non-offending family members. Their goal is to provide support and work to reduce the trauma that abused children face during the investigation, prosecution, and treatment of their abuse.

May 25, 2018 – Volunteer activities at the Chadwick residence in Syracuse, New York.

We worked in their memorial garden, creating a walkway, weeding, mulching, enlarging and edging, and adding flowers and planters.

Their mission statement is as follows: “To provide supportive housing and a variety of professional services for homeless women and their children in an environment that empowers them to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to increase their self-sufficiency.”

The residence has been serving Syracuse for over 30 years and has had a success rate of over 90% with the women and children they help.

March 23, 2018, Nicole and Hadisa helped to set up a fundraiser for Paige’s Butterfly Run – an annual Syracuse event raising funds to fight childhood cancer, and provide respite to families from out of town who are here while their children are being treated at Golisano Children’s Hospital in Syracuse, New York. A terrific program, doing genuine good for the community and those in need.
